One of the largest events in the field of corrosion protection - The 17th Middle East Corrosion Conference & Exhibition, was held in the Kingdom of Bahrein early October. Galen participated in the event and presented its products.

Corrosion is a problem challenging the construction industry all over the world, including the countries of the Middle East. Oil and gas, construction companies of the region pay special attention to the protection of structures against corrosion. Within the framework of the exhibition, developers of corrosion protection systems for existing structures and suppliers of non-corrosive materials for new constructions presented their products. Galen showcased its new range of products corresponding to requirements of ASTM D7957/D7957M – 17. Nowadays this standard is a governing one for the international industry of composite reinforcement.

Besides, a session devoted to the application of composite reinforcement in constructions of the Middle East was held within the framework of the conference. Experts and engineers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, UAE, USA spoke at the session. The main idea of their reports was the statement on the sufficiency of the regulatory base and experience for a wider application of the composite reinforcement in infrastructure facilities exposed to high corrosion loads. The examples included constructions from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrein and countries of North Africa.

It should be noted, that the first Middle Eastern project Galen participated in, is a flagship: Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi concentrated all the advanced construction technologies, including those developed by Galen. Currently our company keeps working on introduction of the products into a number of large Middle Eastern projects, where replacement of the metal with composite materials is necessary.
